Lovely to see some photos. You all have that 'happy' look that so much walking brings! I know what you mean about the Grims. I knew it was going to be like that, but I found the crowds going into Portmartin almost too much, and thought of taking the bus to Santiago!!! However, there is some lovely Galician green to come. Amazing....you are nearly there!!
By the way, just heard (via Facebook) that last year was the wettest and coldest on the Camino for ten years. Just as well for you lot it isn't the same this year.... those plastic ponchos would have done you no good if you had struck my season!!!!
Hey Margaret, The cold and wet was not a problem and the ponchos were great for the conditions we encountered - just enough to keep the wet off without getting us too wet. But as you note, this was quite different from last year. So the best anyone can say is that it changes year to year...
We are 4 from a family of 6, from quiet Palmerston North NZ, determined to experience the life of pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago. Of our 4 children the 2 younger ones aged 17 and 14 are accompanying us. They are lukewarm about the idea of walking but interested in the sights of Europe !
