Zubiri produced a couple of amusing anecdotes : neither Mads or Gabe were too fussed about showering with their parents in the communal (segrated) showers ! Mads had to "Go to another place " in her head ! We also went to the dairy to buy some provisions and when faced with the choice of red or green apples - Rick opted for the "rioja". An Englishman watching on remarked that he had ordered some apples infused with Rioja wine ! Needless to say they were out of stock !

Gabe will be happy to know there are not too many communal showers like the Zubiri ones! And I agree, the Jesus and Mary albergue was amazing. I laughed at the lady that talked all day and snored all night!!
ReplyDeleteI remember the long walk into Pamplona well- I was muddy and the people were all in their Sunday best ready for Mass and looked at me like I was an alien!!!
I wouldn't be too worried about the treeless expanses....you might well have some bitterly cold days still to come in June, unless you have markedly different weather to me!
